About the campaign

The Not4Sale campaign was originally run under the ‘Not for Sale’ banner prior to the 2012 election, protesting the sale of Queensland Rail and other assets by the Bligh Labor government. In late 2012, it was re-launched as ‘Not4Sale’ in response to the Queensland LNP Newman government attempting to sell publicly owned electricity assets leading into the 2015 state election. It was re-launched once again in the lead up to the 2017 election after the LNP and One Nation repeatedly failed to rule out selling Queensland energy assets.

The campaign is kicking off again in 2024 to oppose the LNP Crisafulli oppositions plan to privatise Queensland’s energy assets if successful in the October 2024 election.
